For example, a rising edge delay can be made by using the TON function block that is found in the Basic Instructions section of the Instructions window under Timer operations. If the Instructions window is not visible, you may need to activate the program area (for example, an OB1 block) by clicking it.

  1. Drag the function block in to your application
  2. Click on the function block
  3. Press F1 to open help page of the function block
  4. Study how the function block works as well as function of its inputs and outputs
    • for example, the delay length is set at input PT
    • the delay can be entered by typing in 2s, which automatically changes to T#2s

Siemens Rising Edge Delay Block

S_ODT function block has three inputs. The delayed signal is connected to the S input. Output Q can be reset at any time by setting input R true. The R input can be left unconnected if no reset is needed. The length of the delay is given by as S5 time type, where for example 2 s delay is given in the form of S5T#2s.
