Term "Network" or "Rung"
When programming in Ladder format the application has to be divided into Networks (Syswin) or Rungs (CX Programmer).
In a Network/Rung,
- All items in a network must be joined together.
- All contacts and horizontals must be connected on their right-hand side to an output or function.
- All items in the ladder editor must be connected on their left-hand side.
Sometimes, a network/rung that is too complicated cannot be anymore displayed in ladder format. This is because there are
- Too many AND LD or OR LD instructions required - break down into smaller networks.
- Too many Temporary Relays required - break down into smaller networks.
