/ Exercise: Soot Blower
/
How to proceed
It is always advisable to divide the task in hand into smaller pieces and make the application in small chunks. As skills grow and you get more experience
it is possible to handle larger pieces of application at a time, but even then it is usually necessary to split the application in pieces that are easy to manage. This is
about not overloading one's memory - in a large mass of details something is easily missed.
First, implement the following function:
- Automatic Soot lowing is activated pressing the START button
- The soot blower is driven out from its housing to the smoke flue until the out limit switch is activated
- 5 s stopping time
- The soot blower is retracted back to its housing out from the smoke flue until the in limit switch is activated
After implementing the above, program the following:
- IN button (input 2)
- indicator lamps control (outputs 1, 2)
- steam sensor, steam valve (input 7, output 7)
- detection of discrepancies
- 20 s running time
- in and out limits on at the same time
- steam failure
- discrepancy indication and functioning upon them
